When it comes to our health, we’re deeply invested in our well being. After all, it’s a matter of life and death, in a sense, because poor health can lead to a shorter life, as well as a lower quality of life, so it’s in our best interest to take care of ourselves. While we all know we should eat right and exercise, and what that entails, we often neglect other aspects of our health, simply because we don’t always know how to address other aspects of our health. Here are some examples of how to live a healthier and happier life.

First and foremost, let’s talk about mental health. Mental illness is a major problem, both for the individual and on a societal level, and we know little about mental health, so it can be hard to avoid or treat. However, we do have some important and helpful information about mental illness, even if it’s not widely known. For starters, it’s important to have some mental stimulation, as a lack of stimulation can result in or exacerbate depression, among other mental illnesses. We also need exercise, as our bodies need stimulation, too, and excess energy can lead to restless that can cause or worsen anxiety. Therefore, we can kill two birds with one stone by taking the occasional walk. The light exercise can improve your mood and burn off some energy, and the changing scenery can stimulate the mind.

Another important aspect of mental health is diseases like dementia and Alzheimer’s. These diseases can ravage the brain, destroying memories, displacing those affected in time, or so it seems to them, and eventually result in death. This is a terrifying ordeal for those suffering from those diseases and those around them, so it’s best to avoid it when possible. Like the above advice, mental stimulation is an important way to fight these diseases, and one good way to get that stimulation is video games. Video games are particularly potent for a couple reasons. For one, anyone can play video games, regardless of extenuating circumstance, for the most part. Therefore, the elderly, who are most at risk for these diseases, can take advantage of video games, even if they’re not in good enough shape to get out and about. The other reason is that video games offer a wide variety of stimuli and are often more cognitively demanding than other types of games. So, don’t be afraid to invest in some games via Origin and start fighting back early.
